Our mission is to express the message and spirit of Christ through Christian worship, education, discipleship, evangelism and charity, and in all we do glorify God and share God’s love. St. Paul Community Church is an ecumenical church, with 142 years of service to the community. Founded by German immigrants in 1865 as St. Paul Evangelical Church, through its joining with The United Church of Homewood in 1932, and its present affiliation with the United Church of Christ, we have been and will continue to be the place that lives its motto..... You are always welcome here! St. Paul has also been a community gathering spot for groups such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, AA meetings, Square Dancers, Historical Society, Grand Prairie Singers and piano recitals and Yoga classes. We are deeply concerned about the needs of others, whether in our neighborhood or around the world, ours is a rich and long-term commitment to social concerns and social action and is not limited to the many monetary donations we make to local social service organizations. St. Paul has for many years supported: v PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) meeting the needs of the homeless in the Southland. v Respond NOW food collections weekly v Habitat for Humanity v Community Blood drives v South Suburban CROP Walk, both in leadership and participation v One Great Hour of Sharing Offering as part of the ministry of Church World Service
