Purpose
Recognizing that the Church is the organization for
carrying on that work among all people which Jesus Christ inaugurated, the
purpose of this Church shall be to help individuals live as Christians, to
maintain a Christian Congregation upon a community basis and to promote the
Kingdom of God; specifically:
- To provide for the public worship of God in spirit and
truth,
- To teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the perfect way
of life,
- To help individuals exemplify Christ in their lives
through pure and righteous living and constant manifestation of
friendliness to all people,
- To express the Christian spirit through the support of
worthy benevolences, both at home and abroad,
- To enlist the interest and support of the youth of the
congregation through provision of a broad and vital program of Christian
education and fellowship,
- To work toward the moral and spiritual upbuilding of
the entire community.
Statement of Faith
The St. Paul Community Church acknowledges the Lord Jesus
Christ as the great Head of the Church and receives the Holy Scriptures as
authoritative in matters of faith, order and discipline, and bases its faith
upon the following principles:
- We believe that God is our Creator, the Lord Jesus
Christ is our Savior, and the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Guide,
- We believe we are saved by a living faith, the fountain
of this faith being the Bible, the living word of God,
- We believe that for this experience of a living faith,
a full measure of religious liberty and freedom of conscience is
necessary,
- We believe that it is in accordance with the spirit of
Christ to cooperate with churches of all faiths in the work of the
ecumenical church.
